I heard about this on Twitter.
Check your house for chinese Drywall.
I have heard that Chinese Drywall can cause rust and destruction of Electronics. It usually starts with that green line, then poofs the TV.
Good luck!

Nokia's powers of observation are strong...he is one with the force.
To clarify, the dust that is emitted over time from Chinese drywall (as it is like a dry plastery substance that can cake and release particles) is what can cause this by entering into the television and rusting parts of it.
Chinese drywal is known to rust electronics near / mounted on it. Simple vibrations from yoru speakers, ceiling, etc. could cause particles to fall off and enter into your electronics, more specifically your television as they are normally mounted on walls as flat panels.
Hope that helps!
