Store Warranty

I purchased  a Sony cybershot on 12/31/10 and last night it quit working. I did not buy the extra service plan. Will the store help with this or is it only the

manufacture that will do anything about it?

Best Buy's return policy for cameras is 14 days. Unfortunately, you are out of that time window. Of course, it would not hurt to call the store you purchased the camera from, but they will probably instruct you to contact Sony for support. If the camera just stopped working all of a sudden, that should be covered under the manufacture's warranty.

Great Thanks!! Yep the wife was taking pic's and the camera shut it self off. When she went to go use it again it had a error message "Turn off camera and turn it back on"  and it keeps saying that everytime we turn it back on.

Contact the Best Buy store closest to you. The Geek Squad should be able to send the camera to their service center. Most of Geek Squad's service centers are certified by the manufacturers to perform work under warranty. So you can try that road also rather than just dealing with the manufacturer.
