Still charged after canceling black tie

So, yeah. I originally just bought the regular iphone 4 on November 15. I was also sold the black tie protection and told if I wanted to cancel just call the number within 30 days and they would not charge me beyond that. Well, on December 6th I decided to exchange the iphone 4 for the 4s. I was told that the black tie would just transfer over with the phone but I was still within my 30 days to cancel. So, on the 8th I called the toll free number and after about 10 minutes or so finally got to speak with someone who told me they could cancel the black tie protection. Yesterday, January 7th, I have a charge for 16.04 on my bank statement from, you guessed it, Best buy. I called again and was told they would cancel my black tie protection and would try to get the charges reversed but it could take up to 10 days. My problem is why wasn't it taken care of the first time around and also how much faith should I have that its going to stop this time? The guy on the phone this time kept mumbling about how I should have taken care of this at the store. Well, if you call and ask the store they tell you to call the number. Its very frustrating and time consuming. Also, I dont like being told they will try to recover my money. It was my money and I canceled well before the alloted time so to take that was fradulent. What can I do to make sure that the cancelation went through this time and wont happen again? In the meantime if anyone is considering this protection just realize that this is what you will have to go through just to cancel.

Re: Still charged after canceling black tie

So, still no response from Best Buy but I did figure out why they post that someone will reach out to you. Its just a PR move so that others coming to this forum will think Best Buy has done something to help.

Remember, if you get the black tie protection this is what you will go through.

Re: Still charged after canceling black tie

Ok, first of all you said you called the 800 # and was directed to the store for cancelation  then you stated you CALLED the store. Ok, here's the deal, within the 1st 30 days you must take your receipt back to the store and they will cancel the plan, they won't do it over the phone. It's a return!!!
