I have seen numerous complaints about the Samsung TV's cracking out of nowhere.  We were watching a movie last night before we went to bed and the screen was fine.  I woke up this morning to work out and found a spider web crack on it!!!  I've seen you say that this not covered under warranty, but this is obviously a know defect!!!  The cat has been outside all night, so I know it wasn't him (he could reach it anyways).    What is being done about this???  I paid a lot of money for this TV and now it is ruined!!!

Have you contacted Samsung?

Re: Samsung TV cracked screen

Hi jjam31,

Your concern over the crack in your TV’s screen is certainly understandable, and given the amount of money you spent on your TV I can see why the thought of this not being covered would be upsetting.

If Samsung determines that there is an inherent defect in your specific model they should be issuing a recall of the unit, and if this isn’t the case I have to assume they do not believe there is a defect causing the screens on this model to crack out of nowhere.

It is true that both manufacturer warranties, and our service plans on TVs, do not cover any damage to the TV. I also know from experience that a cracked screen would be assumed to have been caused by the customer themselves.

My best suggestion is to contact Samsung yourself to see if they would be able to provide you any options in this matter. I truly do wish you the very best!

Thanks for posting,
