Samsung 50" cheaper to give us a new t.v.

Our Samsung 50" broke 3 weeks ago.  Geeks came and said the part (light house?) was gone and ordered parts.  Parts are at least $750..  Well, parts were sent to wrong place, geek sends back, yada yada.  Still my t.v. is broken.  A new t.v. costs around $800.  Why in heck do they not just give us a new t.v.?  I paid around $2000 for this thing new and a warrenty 2 years ago.  I have tried to call and speak to a human with a brain as to why any resonable company trying to save money, would spend more money ordering parts and shipping them all over the place an back again spending way more than the t.v. is worth?  Does this make sense?  Except you can never speak to an actual intelligent human.  Just people who say, sorry, that's what we do?  So Here I sit watching a tiny t.v.  Missed the Superbowl.  Just makes no sense.  HELP, I just want a big t.v.

Re: Samsung 50" cheaper to give us a new t.v.

Hey pigzie,

I can see why ordering a part that costs $750 for your TV that could be replaced for $800 doesn’t make sense, and I can also understand wanting to have a working TV as quick as possible. It sounds like you have a Performance Service Plan (PSP) covering the repair of the TV, and although the PSP does allow us to replace your TV if we determine the repair of your TV would be uneconomical to continue (it is at our discretion). I would like to see if I can help in trying to get your TV repaired quicker, or replaced if it qualifies for replacement so I am sending you a private message. To check your messages you should log into the forum, and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

Thanks for posting,
Allan
