Replacement options

Ok, so I had a 52" Sharp Aquos that died several times. Have the replacement plan and so forth. Question is, how do they replace my tv. It was out of MHT section a few years ago, but no longer. Do I get a credit for the tv or do they pick a tv for me? What is this going to cost out of pocket for a new one? Thanks.

Re: Replacement options

They don't sell replacement plans on televisions. They have service plans. If your tv was deemed a lemon from the no lemon policy or was junked out, they give you a television with comparable specifications and you can either take that or a store credit for that comparable tvs value to apply towards something else.

Hello ZydZom,

Welcome to the forums!

CrystalWoW is correct.  We offer Geek Squad Black Tie Protection plans.  You'll need to schedule an appointment for a technician to come to your home and inspect the television.  If deemed necessary, they'll repair the television or have it replaced under the warranty.

Did you purchase a Geek Squad Black Tie Protection plan?  Do you have the original receipt for the purchase?

I look forward to hearing from you!

Re: Replacement options

They will first try to fix it. It will get replaced only in a few scenarios: a) If the TV undergoes 3 Qualified Repairs and needs a 4th (No Lemon Policy) or b) the parts are not available or it's uneconomical to repair.

If you are deemed to recieve a replacement, it will be replaced with a TV of comparable spec NOT to exceed purchase price. In other words, they will replace it with the most comparable 52", 1080p HDTV.

But, as the others have said.. they will first send a technician out and attempt repairs.
