Re: Warrant Is a SCAM!!!!!

I bought a 50" plasma TV 4 months ago, and its been out for over a month now. The geek has been to my house twice and this morning he came and said it was the PDP which is the practically the whole inside. So now it's gona be another 2 weeks before it's fixed. I went to the store this morning and tried to talk to the manger he didn't care that I've missed 2 days of work because of them, he wouldn't replace it or anything. I have bought 2 TV's a fridge and a camcorder from them this year and wont buy another thing from them ever. The warranty is a bunch of crap this guy is not messen with you. you pay 400 dollars for a warranty that is not worth crap. best buy can go to you know where!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

I can completely understand wanting the store to exchange your TV for one that doesn’t need to be repaired after only owning this TV for four months, but it is true that our return or exchange period on TV’s is 30 days from the day you receive a TV.

The Geek Squad Black Tie Protection (GSBTP) plan you purchased is intended to repair your TV not replace it, but there are certain circumstances in which your plan would replace your TV with a comparable model TV.

Your TV should be replaced if you have had three previous qualifying repairs and there is a diagnosis by a technician that a fourth repair is needed, if we determine that your TV is un-repairable, or if we determine that the repair wouldn’t be cost effective to continue. A qualifying repair is when a non-consumable part(s) is installed and due to the part(s) installation the technician determines that your TV is functioning properly.

I would like to personally look into this for you, and see if there is something I can do to get you resolution in this. I am sending you a private message to gather some personal information, and to check your messages you should log into the forum and click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
