Re: Black Tie, BIGGGGGG SCAM, buys be aware

Agree, BIG Scam.

I usually by my electronics from Best Buy, but last year was the first time I bought the Black Tie Protection Plan when I bought my Epic4g. The phone it self was not all that I expected, but it wasnt bad either. I usually take good care of my stuff so I figured I wouldn't need to buy any protection plan for things that I bought, but I thought it was good idea to buy the Black Tie plan, especially since the sales guy had said that if I didn't use the service I would get my money back.

LIES LIES LIES

Best Buy should really make sure that their representatives are well trained and knowledgeable about what they are selling and hold them accountable for fraudulent practices.

Im not at all tech savy, Before this I had no reason to doubt buying stuff from Best Buy, and trusted thier employes to know what they were selling. Now I'll definitely think twice before going back.

If I wanted to buy from know-nothing idiots I would have gone to walmart.

The worst part is that i just found out how the Black Tie plan works, when I have already spent $130.

Black Tie + Best Buy = SCAM

Re: Black Tie, BIGGGGGG SCAM, buys be aware

Yesterday I went to BB in Reno, NV and 3 salespeople all said that in their training from Corporate that Black Tie "COVERS PHONES THAT ARE RAN OVER BY EVEN MY STEAM ROLLER" So it is upper management that is training the employees wrong about coverage of Black Tie!! I showed them the connectors response on these forums and they said that is NOT what they were trainedto say, so it is not the poor misinformed staff's fault it is Corporate Trainer's that are misrepresenting the plan & what it covers, I told them they should also read the Term's & Conditions before they continue to sell the plans.

Ausarian does send you new phone, and do charge much less, with better service and ppl who knows what they are doing.

at the time of my purchase of the phone, i listened to your untrained sales person practicing sales pressure to make me accept by providing wrong information witch I admit my only fault is believing your sales person claims, so don’t tell me about reading the details.

Anyway, I just know how you are with your services now, please don't take precious time of yourself and reply to this, for no matter what you say i already lost trust in you guys, and no matter what you say to me is nothing buy more lies

I can guarantee you Asurion (you can't even spell it correctly in both your attempts so I doubt you even know what they offer) does not give new replacement phones. Never mind how I know, let's look at it from a logical point of view and do some math. Asurion costs on average $7 per month for a smartphone. Most smartphones nowadays cost at retail without a service carrier subsidy approximately $600. Assuming you sign with the standard 2-year contract times $7 per month which brings the total to $168. How does Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint stay in business if they keep giving customers (up to 2 replacements actually) brand new replacement phones every time every Nick, John, Pat, and Billy crushes, loses, and cracks their phones?!! They already subsidized your first phone because they'll make it back through your plan, but for the additional replacement phones? I think not. To think even deeper, let's say your phone is about a year old. Do you seriously think the carriers have a warehouse full of replacement phones brand new-in-box of that phone from last year? Want to know where those replacement phones come from? They are the refurbished/remanufactured ones from the phone manufacturer (e.g. Apple, HTC, Motorola, etc.) or the ones that have nothing wrong with them but the standalone carrier stores just swap them out for customers who complain about inane, non-existent user error problems such as the battery not holding a charge, the phone is slow, the reception is bad, etc. thus putting them through the great restore and recycle circle.

azulguyblue,

I'm frustrated to read that you were told incorrect information at the time of your phone purchase. That is never acceptable.

While the plan fees itself are not refunded if the plan isn't used, we do offer a "Good Maintenance Reward" that offers double the Reward Zone® program points on the original plan purchase price, if your plan goes unused.

I've made sure to share this feedback with the store's management.
