This is the complaints desk. You're not going to find many compliments here. If this represented the majority of customers, BB would no longer be in business.
For an excellent example of why you shouldn't judge BB based on complaints, read this.
If you'd like, I'm sure I can find hundreds of complaints for every one of BB's competitors. That'll narrow down your choices...to none.

I purchased a damage protection plan for my laptop. It was supposed to protect against accidental damag to the computer. I am in the process of trying to make good on that warranty which I paid hundreds of dollars for. Thus far, line level Best Buy employees seem to think I am entitled to a replacement/repair, but their supervisors and the Warranty company refuse to honor it for vague reasons. I believe the phrase used is, "the choice is at the discretion of the warranty company...".
We'll see what happens in the end.

Well I can tell of my experience, seeing as I'm the creator of this original thread. I bought the full coverage for my TV that covers any issues and if the TV has to be repaired too many times (don't really know the exact specifics) they will give me full credit towards a new TV of equal value, I don't believe this exact warranty exists anymore.
My TV started having numerous problems after a year and a half or so and I have to say, so far they've worked hard at fixing my TV, at no extra cost to me. I loved this TV (a Mitsubishi 65') and now I'm not as happy, seeing as they've been out here 3 times or so and replaced a bunch of the guts of the TV and it's still not quite what it originally was. But I do give them credit for staying true to the warranty (again, so far), I guess the real test will be if the TV continues to have problems (for the love of god I hope not) to see if they will truly honor the replacement plan. Everything i've read (not just on complaint sites) suggests that if the time ever came to replace it, they will find some sort of loop hole to not honor it, so I'm praying this last repair did the trick, so I don't have to deal with the whole replacing it thing.
So at this stage, I would say I've had a good experience with the warranty, not so much with the TV itself.

Well if they can't fix it right...... and they won't replace it.......
and that's all I got to say about that.

i purchased the same TV 10/2008 and have nothing but problems and CR has beening working on resolving the issue but then nothing seems to be getting resolved as I have been 8 days without my TV. I just want something reliable and new . I DONOT want a reused/refurbished piece of junk.. we'll have to wait and see.. I'm sure I wont be satisfied!

That's sucks that you're having issues as well. I can tell you that the Black Tie protection plan was honored, it took a while for everything to come together, but in the end all is good. I will be buying the coverage again, when you're spending this kind of money better safe than sorry.
I truly hope it's resolved for you, I was miserable for about 5 months.
Good luck.
