I purchased an Optoma projector in april of 2008(not even a year yet) for $270(closeout) MSRP $899 , I was talked into the service plan($149) per sales person because I was buying a $1000 item (total $449.38) and one other selling feature(per sales person) i would receive one free lamp replacement , I handed my projector to the geek squad on 12/02/08 for service , two weeks later a message on my phone said return to store for an exchange that unit was unrepairable , I was told by store manager I would not get an exchange , only a store credit for $270 , He refused to refund the $149 for service plan , he also said I would not get back my projector back( again less than a year old) when ask so that I might send it to Optoma myself for the manufactors warranty , I was told by a service person over the phone that the unit only needed a lamp but was denied due to my purchase amount , How is this fair that best buy can Negate my good deal because i needed a repair , a best buy competitor just closed their doors (circuit city) with this kind of cust service best buy could be next
