I have purchased a number of items from Best Buy over the years and always paid for the PSP. Recently I needed service on a 3 year old 27" TV /DVD Combo set. The people at BB were great as well as the Geek Tech. I just found out today that the parts to fix my set are no logner avaiable and I was given a confirmation number and told to go to the local BB and see what they can do as far as an equal replacement. I have been reading posts about this issue and I don't think the store will be able to replacement my set. I need a TV /DVD 27" flat screen with a cable card slot and to fit on the wall of our renovated kitchen.
I hope that from some of these posts that I read that I would like to receive equal value for my original purchase and not having to accept less. If BB can't find a replacement of the same type and specs then I want to credit a full credit for what I paid as this is the right thing for them to do.
I see that BB tries to help in most cases. What can I expect ?

Hi there and welcome to the Community! You will most likely be given a store credit for a comparable 27inch TV/DVD combo.

Thanks for your email. What if they can't match the set. I tried to find one and they are no longer are available. I see that some of these posting that take it to Community Connections of BB have been able to receive a full store credit for what they paid. I would like a full credit of my original price less the taxes and PSP fee and I don't think that I should accept less. I have paid for at least 8 PSP contracts over the years and this is the first time I have had to use.

A Community Connector should be in contact with you in the next couple of business days. This would be the most comparable model, Insignia 26" TV/DVD Combo.

Hi malt44,
Thanks for asking this question! I feel it is always better to be informed prior to going to the store rather that getting there and finding out what you expect isn't what reality is.
The store should offer you a comparable TV as determined by them, and if they determine that we don't sell a TV that is comparable to what you had they should issue you a store credit in the amount of the original purchase price. The price of the comparable TV or the amount of the store credit cannot exceed the original purchase price.
I should be clear that per the terms and conditions of your Performance Service Plan (PSP) the original price paid is in no way a consideration in determining what a comparable replacement TV would be, and due to technological advances the purchase price of the replacement TV could be lower than the original price paid.
If you need any more clarification on what to expect, or any personal assistance from me just send me a private message. To send me a private message you should log into the forum, click on my icon, and then click on the send this user a private message link.
Thanks for posting,

Does this set have a slot for a cable card. This is the problem.
