I bought a Panasonic Plasma TV from Best Buy in November of 2007, and was duped into buying Best Buy's (seemingly worthless) warranty. I've been begging and pleading with them for three weeks now to fix a loud hum in the audio, and so far all they've done is make excuses and lie to me. I would discourage anyone from buying anything like a TV or major aplliance from these slugs, Their so called warranty is nothing but a rip off. I sent an email to their customer service people from the "Contact us" porting of their website. I'm posing it below. BUYER BEWARE!. You'd be well advised to take your business elsewhere, preferrably your local neighborhood merchant who sells TV and appliances.
Here's the Post I sent to them.
I bought a Panasonic 42" television at the local best buy store in November of 2007, and purchsed an extended warranty on it. On August 8, 2009 I called the Geek Squad because the TV is making an annoying "humming" noice in the audio. They scheduled a service call through PRECISION TELEVISION, and a technician made a house call, and then informed me that the problem was in my cable connection. The cable technician came out and, just to be sure he connected the cable to a different TV which DID NOT make the humming noise....thereby PROVING that the problem WAS NOT in the cable connection. I contacted Precision Television, and they informed me that it needs a part and their technician would contact me in "a coule of days". As of this date, I have received no such call from their technician (your contractor).
Last week I called Precision TV at 800-603-2433, Extension 7226 and left a message for them to contact me. THEY DID NOT.
Today, I called Geek Squad again, and they gave me some more mealy-mouthed excuses. I am fed up. I paid hard earned money for the television and the warranty. As far as the warranty goes, it appears to have no value. I would have been as well of to flush that money down the toilet. I'm now under the impression that Best Buy doesn't give a rat's a** aqbout their customers, and neither does your repair contractor, Precision Television. The service has been PISS-POOR, and the whole experience a nightmare.
I'm taking my story to local WBTV who does a consumer blog as part of their evening news. Hopefully they'll get my story on the air to show the people in their viewing area how Best Buy s**ts on customers. I need help from someone at the corporate level, because your customer service people are clearly inadequate in finding a solution. (Whatever you're paying them, it's too much.)
Tonight I spoke with two different people at Geek Squad, Mary at Ext 406132 who seemed to be somewhat understanding, and a supervisor named Clint at ext 406132 who talked to me in a very condescending manner. I'd have to question his effectiveness as a supervisor since he displayed such poor professional demeanor.
Rest assured that I will NEVER buy another TV, computer, or major appliance from Best Buy. NEVER, under any circumstances.
Can someone important at Bust Buy help me. ...someone with enough balls to actually do something?

Hi truckbroker,
I can honestly say that this sounds like a very frustrating repair experience, and I truly do apologize for the attitude you received from the representatives of Best Buy® that you spoke to. No customer’s request should be met with a condescending attitude, and I hate hearing that you won’t be shopping with us any further due to this experience.
I did reach out to our TV repair department today and was informed that your TV was approved to be replaced by your Performance Service Plan (PSP) due to the fact that it was un-repairable. I am sending you a private message to pass along some personal information. To check your messages you should log into the forum, and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Thanks for posting,
