PSP on Nikon DSLR in Canada

Hello,

I recently purchased a Nikon D3000 in a US Best Buy Store - price was great and the purchase was a little hasty.  I wanted to clarify something.  The sales rep at the store assured me that the PSP plan will cover my camera  - 4 years for $99.00 - even in Canada.

If I do run into a problem with my camera, do I:

1) return it to a Best Buy in Canada or

2) call (888) 539-688 and they direct me to the depot, I pay for the repair and BestBuyUSA reimburses me

If the latter is true, then are the limitaitons to the coverage?

It is my understanding that Nikon Canada does not honor warrnanties for its products bought in the US - does this affect my PSP?

Thanks for your help!

Re: PSP on Nikon DSLR in Canada

Hello core_upt,

Products and service plans sold at US Best Buy stores are primarily intended for use within the United States, so the latter would be true – you would need to seek reimbursement for any qualifying repairs you have performed outside of the country.  If you’d like details regarding any potential limitations to your coverage, however, I would strongly encourage you to contact our International Repair Hotline at 1-888-539-6883 for more information.  A claims specialist should be able to answer any questions you have, as well as provide you instructions for if/when your camera is in need of repairs.

I hope this helps you out!
