Hello,
I took my Toshiba x205-sli2 in for repairs for the third time yesterday. The first repair which was about four months ago involved repairing the fan (I am not sure how much that cost). The second repair involved replacing both VGA cards at a cost to the PSP of $915. Note: this computer is known to have overheating and graphic card issues. I took the computer home and two days later the graphics turned green and froze up. I took the computer back into Best Buy for repair and it has been shipped to the repair facility in KY.
I am just wondering if it is not a simple issue of reseating the graphic cards how much is the PSP willing to spend to repair this computer? The computer cost around $1250.
I am a bit concerned about the "no lemon policy" on the next or 4th repair (it is inevitable) or a possible replacement computer because it states that Best Buy will replace it with "a comparable computer." Since it is a gaming laptop with sli technology but only an Intel dual core and 8600GT graphic s I am not sure what comparable computer Best Buy has on the market. I am interested in the ASUS G73 17" but since it is a Intel quad with better graphics I am not sure the PSP would replace it with that even though the price is a less than the original computer price. What happens in this situation?
The x205 has killer graphics i just wish it would function properly so I am not sure what I am hoping will happen.
I will wait to hear from Best Buy about the 3rd repair but was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to my questions. I will follow-up with the resolution of the 3rd repair.

Hey Sakie,
Ultimately, your laptop would be approved for an exchange if a factory-authorized technician determines that repairing it would be uneconomical. Since this decision can only be made by the service center, however, it’d be difficult to answer your first question – your best bet is to wait and see what the service center says.
As far as potential replacements are concerned, we ideally want to provide customers the exact same product they originally purchased. This is not always possible though, so our stores may instead offer either a directly comparable replacement model (on a spec-for-spec basis, not to exceed the original product’s purchase price) or a store credit for the fair market value of the original product. Customers may also be given the option of upgrading to a higher-end model, with the customer being responsible for any difference in price between the two units.
I’ve sent you some information regarding your laptop’s repairs, so please make sure to check your private messages. You can do so by signing into the forums and then clicking on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
