PSP - No Lemon Policy details

I have been having some problems w/ my TV over the last 18 months after 2 years of flawless service. My PSP will expire in 6 months and I don't like the idea of having a broken $4k pile of junk in my living room. I have seen the following verbage in the forums repeatedly: "If you have had three qualifying repairs and this is your fourth qualifying repair your TV should be replaced. A qualifying repair is when a non-consumable part is installed on your TV, and due to that part installation the technician determines that your TV is functioning properly. Your TV would also be replaced if it is determined that your TV is un-repairable, or if we determine that the repair would not be cost effective to continue." Looking for more specifics/definitions of terms above. What in the TV is deemed consumable besides the bulb? Is there a list of consumable / non-consumable parts pre-defined that I can read? I think I'm starting to see a defect in my picture again that will require a 4th repair, depending on the repair categorization of past and upcoming repair I may be eligible for a replacement/refund rather than another repair. To be perfectly honest, I love this TV when it is functioning properly, and don't really want a new TV. I also don't want to be stuck w/ a TV that has turned out to be unreliable.....

Re: PSP - No Lemon Policy details

Hi mike12820,

After three previous repairs on your TV I can completely understand you being concerned about the quality of this TV, and I can definitely appreciate you wanting to be as informed as possible before scheduling a new repair on your TV.

I am not aware of any other parts on a TV that considered consumable for the purposes of qualifying for the no lemon policy in your Performance Service Plan (PSP). The terms and conditions of your PSP are for all Digital Imaging and Video products, and this exclusion is not exclusive to TV’s.

If you want me to personally look into your repair history to see if you qualify for the no lemon clause of your PSP just send me a message, but keep in mind that this is assuming the current problem would require a fourth qualifying repair. To send me a private message just click on the link in my signature.

Thanks for posting,
