Re: Update

I used the word "risk" since it's possible that you'll never have to use the plan. There is risk inherent in any contract.

A contract  is an agreement between two or more parties. Yes, there is always a risk that a party will breach a contract.

Re: Update

That's not the risk I was walking about, but sure.

Re: Update

Nokia, I think if you added up the time people spend in these forums, it would prove to be far more efficient to employ knowledgeable staff in each store, who are capable of fully explaining the PSP if/when requested.  Yes, there would most certainly be a reduction in the sales of PSP's, but there would also be a reduction in claims.

The only thing I agree with you about is that I should have researched Best Buy PSP's.  If I had known this forum existed, and witnessed the variety of problems people were having, I never would have purchased a single item at Best Buy.

I think you're drastically overestimating these forums.

Re: Update

Don't let Nokia get to you, I actually laughed when I read her response.

It did make me wonder why BB employees don't instruct you to go home and read the PSP front to back and then call them with any questions or concerns?  They also don't tell you that you can return the warranty if you don't like what you read.  I just love how they have an argument for everything, but their arguments only end up making them look worse in the end.

On a positive note, Allan has proven to be a wonderful resource, and we should have a tv up and running by Saturday.  Yes, we will be shelling out "a few hundred bucks" as Josh had put it, but hopefully this will be the last time I'm on this forum.  PLEASE GOD DON'T GIVE ME A LEMON :smileyindifferent:

Best wishes to you and your family too!

Re: Update

You're signing a contract. The need to read it should be obvious. Same with the return period.

Re: Update

You're listed as a "valued expert" but you're really clueless.  I was not just referring to this forum, but the handful of websites where customers are complaining about Best Buy's policies. How bad of a reputation does a company need to get before it starts making changes?

www.my3cents.com/search.cgi?criteria=Best+Buy

www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/best-buy-c12525.html

www.ripoffreport.com

consumerist.com/.../geek-squad

Instead of arguing with dissatified customers, why not try and look for solutions?

p.s. I'm done here now, unless you continue to annoy me.

Re: Update

The title under my username has nothing to do wth me. It's assigned by the forum software.

Every large company has a bad reputation. Electronics retailers are likely to have a large number of complaints due to high-cost, high-failure items.

Your argument is becoming more and more vague. You're now saying "Well, there's a lot of complaints about BB. I guess they're a horrible company." You can't please all the people all the time.

Think of it this way: even if BB fixed all of these "problems" that you see today, you'd still have people who had purchased items in the past four years complaining.

Re: Update

Find another blogger to argue with Nokia.  My situation is resolved and Allan was absolutely fantastic to work with.

Your "valued expert advice" is as meaningless as your forum assign title.

You're wasting my time.  If you're really on this forum to try and help people, then PLEASE GO AND DO THAT!
