Bought Notebook computer & service plan.
Ten days ago I opened the Notebookl. As the cover reached the halfway point, it felt rough. I knew that something was wrong and closed it. I took it back to the store. The service person at the Geek Squad desk opened it. When she opened it, the broken hinge lifted and also broke the keyboard cover on the Notebook. When she saw the look on my face, she said, “Don’t worry, it’ll be repaired"
now they say I caused physical damage-not covered.

Well, they determined that a broken hinge on a laptop or notebook is COSMETIC in nature and not covered. Now, how can you use a laptop or notebook if you cannot OPEN it, and also, here's the kicker.
They said that because they did not SEE the break, it is not covered. I guess we all have to become psychics so we can prognosticate when our items will break and bring them into the store so they can break in front of the technician.
What upsets me most is that the girl at the counter who took my pc opened it, forcing it open and breaking the keyboard cover. When she saw the look on my face, she said, "don't worry, it'll be fixed; we have to open it to assess the damage."
I have to pay for what she broke as well. Well, this is the last few hundred dollars Best Buy will ever get of my money. I should have come here first and read about thiese scammers.

Hey Dawn511,
The unfortunate part of damaged hinges is that they cannot always be detected until after you attempt to open a laptop computer. Regardless of when the damaged occurred though, I would like to take the opportunity to look into the issue on your behalf. Please keep an eye on your private messages for further communication from me.
Thanks,
