And just when you think that it cannot get worse, it does.
Since my TV is not being fixed, it makes sense for me to atleast get some money back from cancelling the extended warranty. I called Best Buy and was told that I need to write a letter and mail it in order to get my money back. In this day and age, who asks you to write a letter.
And I already know where this is going. I am probably going to be given the run around, that I need to send this document or that or that they never received the letter. They will probably drag it out as long as they can so that in the end, either I give up or they just have to refund a fraction of the money.

Hi abhagwan,
It is true you can write us a letter requesting us to cancel your service plan, and provide you with a pro-rated refund for the plan. An easier way to get the request to cancel the plan processed is to just go into your local Best Buy store; once at the store just go to the customer service desk, and they should be able to get this processed right-away for you.
Thanks,

thanks Alan
I asked the customer service the same question since there is a store less than 2 minutes from my place and she said that the only way was to write a letter.
Thank you for clarifying this.
