NIKON COOLPLIX S9100 - 12.1 Megapixeles BLACK

I bought this camera on-line early January, but I receive the camera in February

(I'm from Monterrey, Mex and a friend in Houston received this camera after he came to Mexico for deliver this item)

I got beautiful photos with this camera BUT I have issues with:

-          Shots I take are blurry most of the times.

-          Battery life is 40minutes every time I use the camera.

I did not expect to have these problems with Nikon because I use to buy only Nikon.

I wish to exchange this camera by NIKON S9300 or somo other......but have been I have over 30 days to get my

exchange in BESTBUY......

WHAT I HAVE TO DO FOR REFUND OR EXCHANGE THIS CAMERA FOR OTHER MODEL? LET'S SAY FOR A NIKON S9300?

TALK WITH MANUFACTURER? E-MAIL? WHERE?

I really appreciate your support on this, Thanks.

Mario

Re: NIKON COOLPLIX S9100 - 12.1 Megapixeles BLACK

You will be unable to exchange the item through Best Buy.

There is the possibilty of something happening throught Nikon directly, although, to be completely honest, that seems just as unlikely.

If you feel that the item is defective, it is entirely possible that it can be shipped to Nikon for repairs.

Re: NIKON COOLPLIX S9100 - 12.1 Megapixeles BLACK

Nikon should repair it if it's defective. However, I looked for issues and it seems that the camera is just... not that great. Lots of complaints of blurry pictures and slow focus on the net... I didn't see any complaints about battery life, but I don't suspect that is your primary concern... spare battery can alleviate that issue.

If the bluriness is from lack of focus, you might be able to find some hints and tips around the net. The camera does have a half-press focus which may be helpful.

If the bluriness is from movement (camera, subject), then you may have have to only snap in places with ample lighting, and, if there is a tripod attachment, consider a small tripod..

Re: NIKON COOLPLIX S9100 - 12.1 Megapixeles BLACK

Bluriness is my main concern.

I thought same as you however it should not been happening.

With a little dark room when I set the flash the photos are ok, whith no flash photos are blurry.

I will try to use a tripod and make more tests to learn how to improve my shots.

good points by the way.

Thank you!

To clarify...
-do you have sharpness problems outdoors in bright sunlight?
-What other Nikon camera models have you owned that you are comparing to?

I'm always reaching for my D700 when indoors. With an SB900.... No problems at all.

I'll test this condition soon I believe not since the first ones I took were not bad.

I'm not comparing this one with other.

Re: NIKON COOLPLIX S9100 - 12.1 Megapixeles BLACK

Hi MarioRamirez,

Sorry to hear that you aren’t satisfied with the quality of the images this camera is producing, and that the battery doesn’t last as long as you would have expected. User rellarillear is correct that you are no longer within the 30 day return or exchange period, which means we would not be able to exchange the camera any longer.

The best I can suggest is to agree with the other users on this thread, and suggest you contact Nikon to see if they can provide you any options in this matter.

Thanks for posting,
