My headphones warranty... Could I use it to go towards new headphones and pay the difference?

Hello,

 

 

 

I purchased skullcandy titans a couple of months ago and purchased the 10 dollar protection plan or whatever it was ($8-$10?) Something like that. 

 

Well, I want to purchase new headphones that are $99.99, my question is can I return the $50 skullcandy headphones I have the protection plan on and pay the $50 cash difference between price for the new headphones? Ever since skullcandy 'updated' the titans, they pretty much cheapened the product and they are nothing like they used to be before. Seriously.
