My broke laptop and Ipod.

First off I want to say I do not have a wealth of money and my laptop is shot, my cat jumped on it and caused it to fall to the floor since that happend the "U" button is now missing the lower right side is dented in and now it will not read cds or anyother cd form of media and the speakers are actually broke as well, I cannot locate the cd to return everything to its warranty set up and what would be the point anyways my laptop wont read it, all I have is the wall outlet, and I recieved the laptop in 07.

My IPOD is a 30GB and I have the usb cord for it to plug into the laptop, and the cd needed for it.

Now that I have those out of the way my question is can I take them to BestBuy to maybe get their value put on a card so I can use it as I see fit?

I hope to hear something back so I can take them up there.

Re: My broke laptop and Ipod.

Not in this lifetime or the next. You are out of luck on this one. I know it's not what you want to hear, but Best Buy doesn't even honor actual warranty repairs let alone damage caused by "you" in this case your cat, but it is your cat.

Re: My broke laptop and Ipod.

Hey jboy757,

I was sorry to hear your cat broke your laptop, and believe me I can relate after my dogs tore apart half my couch. To return or exchange a laptop purchased from Best Buy® it would need to be processed within the14 day return or exchange period, and the laptop would need to be in like new condition. If you purchased a Performance Service Plan (PSP) with Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) to provide extended coverage on the laptop, the repair of your laptop should be covered. Unfortunately if you didn’t purchase a PSP with ADH coverage you would have to pay for any repairs of your laptop.

As long as the IPod is functioning properly you could trade it in for a Best Buy® gift card on our trade in website. If you have any further questions for me just send me a private message by clicking on my user icon, and then clicking on send this user a private message.

Thanks for posting,
Allan
