My PSP story starts 1/7/09

Hi, i decided to let everyone in on my protection plan story, which appears to developing into a horror story.
on Wenesday 1/7/09 my xbox 360 elite stopped reading discs, games and dvd. I found my receipt with the PSP but the thermal paper is so faded it hard to read.

I call the number on the receipt, the tech bears with me with the illegable reciept and files my claim. Service is nice and easy and i should expect an email in 24 hours. To file my claim i need a copy of my receipt...problem....no i call best buy and they can provide me with a new copy if i go to the store.....a 45 minute drive, but i can live with that.

1/8/09 Got a copy no problem.

1/9/09 Two days latyer....no email....call best buy again.....talk to an agent, very nice and easy again....says i should get an email in 24 hours with my shipping slip....he said it was probably due to email filter......i don't have an email filter and i already checked my junk mail!!!!......

Well all i can do now is wait til tomarrow......i have a feeling that i will be making more phone calls tomarrow....

1/10/09 well i finally got the email with the postage label late last night...went to the post office.   I tried to get tracking and insurance for the package but could not unless i paid for the whole shipping myself.  I decided not to....first the package weight over 20 pounds...second i thought it might mess up the claim so the lady at the post office gave me a proof of shipping for $1.13.....Hope this is good enough.  She also said  6 days to get there......I wish i could of got insurance and delivery confer.   Oh well.......the process is just headache inducing......

Hello michele17 -

 

I can only imagine how anxious you must be to get your Xbox elite up and running again!  As a huge gamer, I hate being without my system for even one day!  I am glad to hear that we were able to provide you with a shipping label to send the unit back.  

 

The standard procedure is once the Product Replacement Plan (PRP) department receives your unit, you can expect to receive your voucher or gift card in 10 - 15 business days.  

 

Keep me posted michele17, and if you run into any hurdles, please contact my by private message.  You can do this by first ensuring you are logged into the forums, then clicking the envelope in the upper right hand corner, and composing a new message to Dorothy-BBY.

UPDATE

 

Well Best buy should of recieved my xbox yesterday 1/19/09...... they say i should be recieving a gift card in 10-15 bus. days so that is between feb 2 to 9.   A whole month later.  :smileysad:
