I am the proud owner of an old Macbook. Specifically, it is the most current model until the new Macbooks came out a month ago. Unfortunately, my Macbook took a tumble and I suspect that Apple would opt to replace it pursuant to my PSP.
Can you tell me whether Apple would replace my old model with the most current Macbook, or if they would send me a refurbished or otherwise new old model?

You mention you have a PSP on it. Do you have a BB PSP or an AppleCare plan?
If you have a PSP through BB, the laptop will first have to be sent in for repair. I seriously doubt that they won't be able to repair it.
If you have AppleCare, then you'll have to contact apple.

I have the PSP through Best Buy.
In the event that repairs would prove to be too costly and a replacement is justified would that replacement be with a new macbook or with the older model.

The MacBook will be sent out and it will either be fixed or replaced. You have the latest model so it doesn't really matter what they do to yours. You'd be surprised, but most of the time they can repair them though

oh haha im sorry i misread your post. same thing though. its kinda 50/50 whether they will fix it or replace it. the protection plan only guarantees you will have at least your original computer back in working condition
