Macbook ADH replacement question

Since the MacBook has been retired, What would happen if my computer were to need replacing? Would I get a refurbished one? Would they bump me down to the new Air or bump me up to the Pro?

Re: Macbook ADH replacement question

You've sent your laptop out for service and the service center has approved the exchange already for you?

If they can't fix your computer, they would probably just give you a store credit for the closest comparable unit without exceeding your original purchase price. If there is nothing comparable, you would get your original purchase price on a gift card.

Re: Macbook ADH replacement question

No I was wondering what would happen if a situation were to ever happen.  My brother has a MBP and he accidentally  knocked a glass of water on his and they couldnt fix it so he got a similar MBP. I was just wondering since apple no longer makes my model what would happen if a situation were to arise where they couldn't repair my computer.

Re: Macbook ADH replacement question

The policy states that you either get a comparable unit based on the specs of your current computer, not to exceed the original purchase price. If there is nothing comparable that doesn't exceed your purchase price, you'd get a gift card that has your original purchase price on it. In this case, I would assume that you'd get your original purchase price back on a gift card that you can use towards a new computer.

I would agree with this assessment. A Macbook Pro would be a substantial upgrade to the Macbook and would most likely be more expensive. A Macbook Air is just a different product and does not really have "comparable specs" to a Macbook. A Macbook Air would be comparable in value but not specs therefore a gift card in the amount you paid for your Macbook would be warranted.

Re: Macbook ADH replacement question

Hello surrency1992-

I hope this finds you doing well and having a great week.

Like the post point out on this thread, in the event your MacBook needs to be replaced, it would be replaced with a computer of comparable technology not to exceed your original purchase price.  You can view the specific terms and conditions by following this link. http://bbyurl.us/GSBTPTerms

I hope this helps!  If you do have further questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

Respectfully,
