I need a copy of my receipt to use the Product Service Plan for a laptop purchased on 06-12-2008. At the time, I purchased the 3-year plan (and the laptop) on bestbuy.com, choosing the instore pick-up. I do not have a copy of the receipt now, and it is not available to me through my bestbuy.com account because the purchase occured more than two years ago. I also called the Best Buy customer service line, was told I would get a response within a week, and was eventually notified that they could not provide me with a copy of my receipt either (though it sounded as if they'd found it, but weren't allowed to send me a copy either by e-mail or USPS).
I still have the order confirmation, the "ready for pick-up" notification, the pick-up conformation, and a copy of the PSP plan. I also have the plan number and the order number from the online purchase. And, I have a copy of my Pick-Up receipt--printed out from an actual Best Buy register and everything--but, I don't have an online purchase receipt. How can I get my hands on a copy of that? And/or how do I use/can I use the PSP without it (given I have documentation as to the purchase date, price, service plan, pick up receipt)?

If you have the PSP number that is all you really need, or even the original phone number used when creating that order will be able to pull up your information for the PSP.

I often have issues retaining receipts for items, though I know I should. I am sorry to read that the receipt for your laptop and service plan has gone missing in the past couple years.
With all transactions made at Best Buy®, we do try to retain copies of the receipts in case a customer should need it in the future. Regrettably, there are times when we are unable to guarantee the availability of these receipts. Generally, purchases made on BestBuy.com can be accessed from the Order Status page for up to one year. Our BestBuy.com support team can access these receipts to send them for up to two years, which it is now past. In checking into your order, I can confirm we are unable to pull up the order at this time.
That being said, as Crystallee mentioned, as long as you have the service plan number, you should be able to visit the store and get the service you need on your laptop.
