Klipsch repair/warranty policy

Hello,

I purchased a Klipsch RF82 speaker from Best Buy in August 2008 and recently it has started to malfunction. The Klipsch warranty states:

"KLIPSCH, LLC ("KLIPSCH") warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship (subject to the terms set forth below) for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase. During the Warranty period, KLIPSCH will repair or replace (at KLIPSCH's option) this product or any defective parts (excluding electronics and amplifiers). For products that have electronics or amplifiers, the Warranty on those parts is for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.

To obtain Warranty service, please contact the KLIPSCH authorized dealer from which you purchased this product. If your dealer is not equipped to perform the repair of your KLIPSCH product, it can be returned, freight paid, to KLIPSCH for repair. Please call KLIPSCH at 1-800-KLIPSCH for instructions. You will need to ship this product in either its original packaging or packaging affording an equal degree of protection."

I wanted to ask if a Best Buy representative could confirm for me that I should take the speaker back to the store of origin and that this store of origin can handle the repair of my speaker. Is that correct? I wanted to ensure this before I carry this very heavy speaker back down to the Best Buy location.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Re: Klipsch repair/warranty policy

i would imagine that best buy would just do the same thing and ship it to klipsch to get fixed. i dunno though.

My opinions are my own, and I represent no person or company.

Re: Klipsch repair/warranty policy

Hey rondax79,

Best Buy® is an authorized Klipsch service provider, so all that you’ll need to do is bring the defective speaker and a copy of the original receipt to your local store.  It doesn’t have to be the store you purchased the speaker from though – any of our retail stores will do.  Simply speak with an associate at the store’s Geek Squad counter and they should be able to help you out.

If you have any additional questions in the meantime please let me know.  You can send me a private message by signing into the forums and then clicking on either my signature below or the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
