I purchased a Klipsch S4 earphones on Janurary 9, 2011 and I've been having issues with the cable which is an internal problem that effects the left ear. According to Klipsch's website I'm still under their 2 year warranty. I've went to 2 different best buys to do an exchange with the original receipt and there was no problem. But today (4/29/12) I visited the Best buy located in Brooklyn's Atlantic Mall Center and my warranty was not honored by the store manager. I mentioned klipsch two year warranty and their instructions on going to the authorized retailer (Best Buy) for repair or product replacement and I was denied despite being under Klipsch warranty. I was told by the manager herself that in order for me to do the replacement in the store I must purchase a best buy warranty and I can do a product replacement for two years with best buy. She implied that Best Buy's warranty supersede the manufacturer's warranty.
How is this possible despite the fact that Best buy and Klispch have a contract and Klipsch warranty states " To obtain a repair or replacement under the terms of this warranty, please return to dealer first, if possible, and the dealer will direct you accordingly for repairs or replacement. You will be required to submit a copy of the original receipt."? A previous manager honored the manufacturer warranty and she stated that he was wrong and she didn't even research or looked at the Klipsch's warranty policy (Unprofessional).
I would like to hear from a Best Buy rep about this and a solution.
