We did purchase the additional coverage at check out. But we don't have the receipt anymore. What do we do?

Does the additional coverage cover theft? I was under the impression it only covers wear and tear, & things wrong with the actual product.

If you would like a copy of the receipt and you paid by ANY means other than paper-money/cash (like a check, credit/debit card, gift card etc.), bring that means to the store and the customer service desk will be able to print up a duplicate copy.

I really hope the warranty included theft. Otherwise that is $200 down the drain.

It does not cover theft or loss of an item.

Did you purchase the item on a Best Buy credit card with Account Shield? That covers theft if you file a police report. If you did not purchase it with a Best Buy credit card and used some other credit card, check with the bank to see what kind of coverage it offers.

Unfortunately as the other posters have said that the warranties don't cover theft. If you purchased with the BBY CC w/ account shield then report it immediately and make sure you file a police report and get the report number.

If you haven't already, make sure to delink your kindle from your amazon account and change your amazon password. This avoids the thief from charging up items on kindle and/or amazon.

At the very least you can go in store and tell them you would like a prorated refund on the remainder of the extended warranty you purchased.
