I have been doing business with Best Buy ever since they opened in Jackson, MS and This is the first bad experience I have had but has changed my thoughts about where to spend my money. I have purchased my 52" TV, PS3, Wii, IPODs and countless other computer related stuff.
I purchased my daughter an IPOD Nano last Christmas with a 2 year service plan and now the battery won't hold a charge. I took it in to have it repaired by the Geek Squad. They tried to give me a replacement but do not have the same color of my daughters and she wanted this color for a reason. She finally said she would take what they had if they could not repair hers or even send off to have Apple repair. But after waiting 25 minutes for someone to find the key to open the cabinet and another 20 minutes standing in line.......again. I was getting pretty angry. It was when the incompetent lady at the register told me that IPOD batteries could not be replaced and that Apple could not even do it that I lost my cool. I know better, I have replaced a few myself and would this one if I had not paid for a 2-year warranty.
I took my receipt and IPOD and went directly to the manager who was very professional and tried to help. We went back to the Geek Squad desk and he went in the back but after another 20 or more minutes he never had the balls to come out and tell me he could not get it repaired. He sent yet another rep out to argue with me and tell me the batteries could not be replaced. I left the store very frustrated and angry. I probably can get Apple to fix it myself but do not think I should since I purchased it from Best Buy and bought an extended warranty.

Usually, customers are upset because BB won't replace their product. This is a new one.
While it is true that iPod batteries can be replaced by apple, and some customers with the necessary skills, your GSBTP G&G plan does not provide for repair of the item, but replacement.
You are correct in that you can take it to apple, and they will replace the battery under the 1yr mfg. warranty. However, keep in mind that if they choose to replace the unit with a different iPod, your plan will not cover that replacement.
Now, if that happens, you can return the remainder of the plan for a pro rata refund. Simply go back to any BB and they can process the refund.
BTW, what color does she have?

Lime green. She does not like the newer dark green. Does not match everything she has........yea I know but what can you say. Thanks for the input.
