My ipod touch is not holding a charge and is only 3 months old. I bought the 2 year plan with it, now will they give me the new version of the 8gb touch or the old one?

I understand the frustration of getting a newer device only to have an early problem. I will now reveal to the world my number one (not-so-secret) secret about iPods: Your battery may be just fine! It is possible that your computer or iPod-style docking station may not adequately charge your iPod. On many desktops and some laptops, the front or side USB ports are only USB 1.1 and therefore do not have adequate power to charge most devices. It has been my experience that a wall charger called a "brick" usually solves this low-charge issue and can be found on bestbuy.com or at your local Best Buy® store.
For service options, Best Buy® offers a "Rapid Exchange" refurbish program for Performance Service Plans (PSP) owners through your Geek Squad® precinct on qualifying iPods. Our service center depends on part supplies and will usually replace with the original iPod model unless it is no longer available for refurbishing. PSP or not, you may always contact Apple at 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) for further options; be aware that charges may apply if you are outside their warranty (currently 1 year) or support period (90 days). Here's hoping it is just an undercharged battery!
