Short Version
Bought IPAD 2, 3 months later fails (badly), also purchased 2 year protection plan.
Go to best buy, no IPADs to replace it with, we will give you store credit.
What about my 180 dollar 2 year plan that I got 3 months of use out of? You lose that.
Would it transfer to a new device if you just replaced it? No.
So I take my store credit and buy a new IPAD and I have to buy another 2 year warranty? Yes.
So can you hold a IPAD for me when they come in? No. It is a high demand item.
So I basically rented an IPAD from Best Buy at a rate of around 60 dollars a month. Now I have no device, no warranty, and a best buy card with store credit and I just have to time it right to try and get my device replaced.
I wish I at least had cash I could go to the new Apple Store and get better service.
It seams like Best Buy should pro rate warranties, and reserve a device for me to replace the one that they were supposed to replace instead of making me call in every day to see if the shipment came.
But alas this store credit has be forced into going back to best buy for my purchase. Unless anyone wants to buy a best buy gift card.

It should have been replaced under the manufacturers warranty. Geek squad said it was a hardware failure. Apple has a one year hardware.

Our iPad 3 screen broke we tried to return to the store as we purchased the two year warranty on it. We were originally told the warranty will fully cover multiple replacements up to 2 years the way this was relayed to us by a best buy employee was that the iPad would have multiple replacements up to 2 years. So we went to return and the best buy store tried to charge us a $109.00 dollars to get the new IPad replacement we promptly took it back. We called geek squad they said no you don't have to pay anything. But you will have to buy another warranty. In theory i get it but we would never have bought it if we know now what we didnt then. I still don't understand how the best buy store tried charging us if we paid the 179 dollars for the warranty that's just not right. All we want is an extension on the warranty as we were ill informed. The originally warranty pamphlet states two screen replacements. Though it's more cost effective to replace the entire this product. This should not be the consumers problem. We buy a warranty because life happens. I'm not happy and I was planning on buying another ipad for Christmas it will not be from best buy. #angrycustomerbestbuy
