So basically my MacBook pro is having heating and battery issues and i really need this resolved so ive taken it in twice.
the first time nothing was done but i got it back lopsided. The second time they replaced my logic board. The way i understood it is that is the parts exceeded the price of the computer. So i went to best buy explained what was wrong and wanted an explanation of the lemon policy as i assumed the next repair would push me over the price of the computer i was told that the store doesn't decide on weather it is or isnt a lemon but the place they ship it out to. I was given the number of 1 888 best buy. i explained my issue to 1 888 and was told that only one of the services may or may not have counted they told me to call the store to confirm. When i contacted the store i was told that yes the logic board counted my replaced battery didnt and that it impossible was to receive a replacement computer because each replacement must be replaced 30 days apart and my warranty ends january 1. Im a graphic designer and i need my computer at all times. I feel like need to call BBB or i have no idea i just can not fathom that there is nothing i can do.

for a JU09, aka Repair cost exceeds value junkout, it has to be the cost of a single repair; previous repairs do not count. For JU01 aka no lemon, you need three qualifying tags and a forth issue requiring a repair. Depending how the battery was ordered, it should count as a qualifying repair (as long as the store processed it correctly). Redos do not count, so if any repair occurs within 30 days of a previous repair it generally won't count unless its a different issue. As always there are exceptions, but this is the policy. Send it in for repair, it should be fixed correctly and everything should be good. If not, the fourth repair should qualify it as a no lemon. If your PSP is about to expire, you have the option to renew it. It sounds like you saved a bunch of money with the service plan already, so it may be worth it.

a community connector will be along shortly to address your issue but speaking from experience (Ive worked with Geek Squad for over 3 years) the only way you'll be able to get an exchange at this point is if the cost of this next repair exceeds the value of the laptop or if parts are unavailable. Take it into the store let them send it off and see what can be done, even if it doesnt get exchanged we have very talented agents who will ensure it's working properly.
