There might be a quicker resolution for this, if you can call customer service and get the number of the gift card you can bring in this number into the store and they can replace it on the spot. But dont quote me on this.
Usually to get a card replaced you have to keep the letter enclosed with your gift card as a proof of purchase in the event something happens to it.
