Re: Has BB ever made good on a warranty?

No I wouldn't deal with a rep being rude to me, I would probably have used this magically thing called the internet before hand and researched any product I am about to buy first there for I don't have to have a 16 year old help me purchase my electronics.  Thanks though.

Re: Has BB ever made good on a warranty?

You said you used to work at Best Buy did you talk to people the way you do on here.  I can't speak for everyone else but I do my research for weeks before I purchase anything.  Would and do are to different things so if you didn't then you would have to rely on the rep. giving you correct info.   I also haven't seen too many 16 year olds working there mostly 20 and up (at the one's near me anyway).

Your welcome.

Re: Has BB ever made good on a warranty?

No, i do not work for best buy nor do i have family/friends who works there.  Everyone i talk to has no problems with the bestbuy up here in Anchorage.  The only time i had a "problem" at best buy is where i couldn't find some1 to help me in the TV department for a few minutes.  Also, the only reason you see people on this forum trash talk best buy, is because thats the only reason people usually visit this forum for.

Re: Has BB ever made good on a warranty?

In all honesty when I worked for Best Buy I treated my customers great and gave them very informed information about their camera purchase they were about to make.  I only act the way I do on this forum because I had to bottle in my emotions from hearing whinney customers at the customer service desk trying to get free crap out of Best Buy because they can't read a service contract/

Re: Has BB ever made good on a warranty?

But it's not fair to 1. The customers on this site. I agree some are trying to get something for nothing ,but Customer Care Reps on this site will take care of them and advise them of how there situation will be handled. 2. This one I feel is more important, your making things worse for the Customer Care Reps that have to now handle an even more pissed off customer. Say what you have to say about the warranty and where they can find out the info, but calling them foolish or telling them they need to learn how to read is not what should be on this site. I have made comments if I agree with something you guys have said hoping that the OP will understand a little better coming from another customer and not as they refer to you guys as Brainwashed employee's. I also agree that saying Best Buy sucks or they are going to sue Best Buy, report to the BBB etc is the stupidest thing I have ever see but its how they vent and they need somewhere to vent. Unforunately you guys have to see people bashing your employer but honestly what else did you think would happen. This is what makes Best Buy stand out above the competitors.

Re: Has BB ever made good on a warranty?

Vashie,

I am noticing that not many people have problems by me either. Out of the I can't count how many times I have been in Best Buy, I have only had 2 problems and only 1 was major.  So far I have noticed only 2 or 3 people from Long Island that have had problems.  My problem has been resolved by employees that went above and beyond what their job entails and I am greatful for that.  I do not give out their info to anyone except corporate, but I hope that corporate acknowledges what great employee's they are.

Sorry if you feel that my attitude is not helping the situation but in all honesty everyone on this part of the forum still live in the 50's and think they are dealing with Walgreens in that the customer is always right.  We aren't talking about replacing a damaged candy bar we are talking about a giant tv or an expensive laptop.  Best Buy is only doing what any other company who wants to remain open would do, they are attempting to repair what is damaged before shelling out the money to outright replace old equipment with brand new equipment.  No company could survive if they just did replacements outright like everyone wants.

Re: Has BB ever made good on a warranty?

Again I agree with you 100%. When I had my TV I never mentioned I want a new one, I was offered it. I just wanted my TV fixed properly.   But the biggest problem I have been seeing is its not the fact that there is a problem with their TV, Laptop, etc.. its the employee's they are dealing with.  I went through it as well.  On the phone at the 1-888 # as well as in the store some of the employee's were rude beyond what you could think or promised that someone would call you back and no one ever did and then when you called back you were told different stories by every different person you spoke to.  It is happening whether you see it or want to believe it.  So then the customer comes on here hoping that someone can give correct info and they are talked down to.  Again give them info and tell them were to find it but there is no reason to talk down to them.

Maybe you guys should start a forum to vent about customers and the customers can see what pisses you guys off and everyone's eyes can be opened to the other sides.

Re: Has BB ever made good on a warranty?

I am not going to say you are not going to come by the occasional bad rep, but its not like you need a college degree to work in a call center in India or to work in a local Best Buy, but instead of complaining to the closest rep who will listen to you, or on a forum talk to his/her manager and get them "coached":

Re: Has BB ever made good on a warranty?

Thats what I did.  I can't speak for everyone else.   But to work in a call center actually doesn't take some talent as it sucks I did it working for Geico and its the worst job there is.  Customer service in general does take talent not everyone can talk to people and be rational.  I am very good at it but my wife is horrible.  She is the type that blows up making threats while I remain calm and just talk.  You would be surprised and that is exactly why I comment about things you say.  You even said the reason you talk down to people on this site is because you had it all bottled up when you worked for Best Buy.  Your not good with customers then because you wouldn't feel the need to attack back.  and a Sales Person is different from a customer service rep.
