Frigidare Front Loader Washer

OK....here's my horror of a story.  I bought a Frigidare front loader washer, back in 2008, and also bought a 5 year protection plan through Geek Sqaud.  The washer went out on 12/8, I called and they set me up for an appointment on 12/13.  The techinician stopped by and said he needed to order a part, which I was fine with.  The came back on 12/19 replaced the part and to my surprise it still didn't work.  Technician said it needed a new door lock.  I told the technicial if he was sure, because it's doing the exact same thing it was doing before and the door look seems to be working(being how when the door light is on it's locked).  I'm a electrical technician who works for the Army...so...you would my instincts would have counted for something.  So...by this time I'm already getting a little mad, I'm a very patient man, but it has it's limits.  I decided to escalate this to see if they(Best Buy) can at least overnight the part.  I was able to talk to Tim in Montana(Best Buy Management) and he was able to help me.  They overnighted the part and the even thought the service company had the part on 12/21 they couln't schedue someone to come out until after Christmas(now....I'm starting to get a little more mad...having to wash at a laundry mat when I have a washer is no fun...especially during the holiday)  The technician was finally out on 12/27 and to my surprise(RIGHT) after installing the door lock, it washer still didn't work.  I ended up calling Tim and he contacted the service center and it was determined that it would be more cost effective to replace the product.  They gave me the "SECRET CODE" and I went to my local Best Buy to see what I could obtain.  I talked to the rep there and they said they'd give me what I paid for, so I mentioned to them if I were to get a more expensive washer I'd pay the difference.  Finally picked the washer out, bought a couple of pedestals(drawers), and got the 5 year plan again(about $1000.00, extra) and then when I go to check out to my surprise they don't have it in stock and I have to wait till 1/6 to get it delivered.  Just to top it off, Best buy is only giving me a $500.00 credit not the $675, I paid for the washer in the first place.  Best Buy doesn't even have a front loader washer that cheap. I tried talking to Tim(the Best Buy management guy from MT), but he said it's up to the store now.  The management at the Best Buy seems unwilling to budge.....if anything at all you would think I would be compensated for being without a washer for a month.  No I'm still paying Best Buy $1,200.  Can anyone help?

Thanks

Re: Frigidare Front Loader Washer

Hello armandoc03-

I hope this finds you doing well and having a great day.  I am terribly sorry for the lateness in my response and I appreciate your patience with us.

I am very sorry to read about all the issues you experienced while dealing with this washing machine.  I know firsthand how maddening it can be to have to do laundry at the Laundromat, especially when you have a washing machine in your house.  I am happy to see that you were able to get your replacement unit and I hope that it’s working well for you.

I am sending you a private message to get a little more information to thoroughly document this experience.  To check your private messages make sure you are logged into the forums and click the envelope icon on the right side of the page.

Respectfully,
