Fraud warranty offered by store

i purchased an asus g73sw laptop from the best buy store at wilmington - 19808 (store no. 575) in april last year

the store manager told me that the product had 1 year global warranty but now i am in india and my motherboard has crashed and needs to be replaced but the asus service centre is saying it has a US LOCAL warranty!

i was obviously misguided while purchasing the product!!! don't know whom to contact or what to do!!

extremely frustrated as only 1 month is left for the warranty to expire!!!

need help ASAP!!!!!

Re: Fraud warranty offered by store

Did you purchase a protection plan from best buy separately or are you referring just to the Asus warranty?

Re: Fraud warranty offered by store

no, i did not buy a protection plan separately,

i'm referring to the asus warranty

your store manager told me that the laptop came with 1 year Global warranty but when I checked the serial no. at the ASUS service centre in Mumbai, India.. they told me it had a US local warranty....so your store manager misguided me.

Re: Fraud warranty offered by store

Greetings ridhesh,

It’s been my experience that most manufacturers offer a number of repair options for international customers, so I was disheartened to read about the difficulties you’ve encountered obtaining support for your Asus laptop.  I’d be frustrated too if I found myself in a similar situation, especially if the warranty coverage on my computer was about to expire.

I realize this may not be the response you were hoping for, but you will unfortunately need to send your computer to someone you know who resides in the United States and have them seek service on your behalf if you’ve been unable to obtain support directly through Asus.  Please be aware, however, that our stores do not provide repairs by mail and that you would be responsible for any shipping costs.

Let me know if you have any other questions.  You can send me a private message by signing into the forum and then clicking on either my signature below or the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

Re: Fraud warranty offered by store

ya but since you are selling latops and giving wrong info to customers while selling them the least you could do is to offer me a service where i live!

he is an employ of your company you are held liable for whatever he says or offers to a customer.

it is totally wrong on your part to tell a customer that you cant do anything about it and ask me to go live with it...

customer service is to solve the problems of the customer by going the extra mile and not telling them to deal with it!!!

Re: Fraud warranty offered by store

If u had proof he said it then best buy is liable but since all you have is "that's what he told me" then best buy or any company-legally -don't have to do anything

so you do not believe what your customer is saying!

oh ohkay so thats how you value your customers

good to know best buy trusts in people like you to run their service department..... who just shrug off any customer greivance by saying "gime proof"!! kudos!!

and just to be on the same page i'm not giving you a compliment!

Re: Fraud warranty offered by store

There are customers who come in all the time to Best Buy and lie about stuff and try to pull a fast one on management. It is what it is.

Theres only so much you can realistically expect BB to do off of a "THats what he said" argument. I have a hard time remembering what anyone told me a year ago.
