So I went into Bestbuy today and I wanted to replace my old Sixaxis Sony Playstation 3 controller, what did I get in return? Them asking me to pay an extra 22 dollars.........
How does this make any sense, what was the point in me buying a replacement plan? It says clearly on the replacement plan if you cant find an item price for price we will match it with another product of comparable performance.
Then when I tell this to the manager all she does is say "well....." and then turns around and walks away.
Also this is not the 1st time I have had an issue with returning a product after being an employee @ bestbuy, however this just made me explode.
This is just straight up fraud.

This is what it says word by word:
"This plan provides for replacement of the covered product found to be defective with a equivalent amount equal to the original purchase price OR a new or rebuilt product of comparable performance that meets the manufacterers specifications of the original product."
What does "OR a new or rebuilt product of comparable perfromance that meets the manufacterers specifications of the original product" mean to you ?
THIS IS THE ONLY SONY PLAYSTATION 3 CONTROLLER YOU SELL I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS NEEDS TO EVEN BE AN ISSUE I AM EXCHANGING A PRODUCT FOR THE SAME PRODUCT.

Yes, "original purchase price" applies to both situations. If the product has gone up in price, you'll have to pay the difference. Unfortunately, sometimes a comparable replacement for the same price cannot be provided.

No the product did not go up in price I was an employee @ the time when I purchased the product............
They wanted me to pay a 22.87 difference (and lol they even asked if I wanted a replacement plan)

So... you basically lost your employee discount right?

Bob works at Bestbuy while working at Bestbuy he purchases a replacement plan for a set of speakers and has a discount on the speakers of 100 dollars due to his employee discount.
1 year later Bob no longer works at Bestbuy and his speakers break. When Bob goes to get them replaced the customer service associate tells him we can not replace your product unless you pay us 100 dollars more.

If another store has it at a lower price would it suffice for them to call the other store to check up on the price or do I need the ad with me?
Reason I'm asking is because frys has their sony ps3 controllers priced @ 42 dollars(and has had them at this price) but I dont think they are in the ad since its just a normal price and not a sale or special.

kk and yea it is in both the market area and exact item.

So...An even exchange can't be made under a product replacement plan? Sigh. Sounds like employee's sometimes get the short end of the stick, what with having to be able to deal with angry customers all the time and then not be able to fully utilize their psp's, prp's, g&g's, btp's, and all those other crazy acronyms BBY likes to use, once they're done and over with working there.

I wouldn't say that. The only reason he has to pay more is because he can no longer use his discount. That makes sense. The same thing would happen if the situation were reversed (a customer became an employee, and had a PRP purchased as a customer).
