I took an extended warranty on my digital camera cause the seller told me everything is warranty,,, you walk in the sand and the sand block the zoom,, no problem you stop at a best buy and they will repair on site or send it to repairstore...
so I trusted them faulty..
after 2 years middle warranty, still working properly except the last since 6 month,,, the shutter was not closing properly (zoom) but that doesn't effect my picture quality. This spring I remark that the battery cover was not in his proper position like it was all the time... The plastic door is getting tired,,, will break for sure soon,, and to do not being in problem right in the middle of summer holiday I send it to bestbuy repair store..
conclusion,, they ask me 149$ for shutter cause they said its the zoom problem,,,, something hit the zoom so,, not warranty,,, for the door they said not warranty,,, and when it will be broken it wont be under warranty cause its physical damage who are not warranty...
so I paid 33% more of the price of the object to get a warranty on,,,, nothing..
they said,, warranty is concerning that it will always take good picture...
if you take 1000picture the first year,, it will always work,, I warranty that,,,
and I ask concerning a computer that I bought a extended warranty... Wow.. They said its not the same thing...
no its never the same thing when you doesn't get the problem yet,,,
so if I get a computer problem,, I thing I will cry,,,,,,
piece of ,,,,,,... I am wayting for the camera to get back to me...
the cam was working properly,, hope it will still work after they played with it to do and estimation....
cause they will ear me yellll,,,,,
take care,, I am not blufffing..

forget to tell.. the camera is working properly so I will use it untill the battery door or cassing will break by itself,,,,
one day I will find it on the shelf ,,,, door open, casssing broken ,,,
the plastic icassing is looking to be to soft to retain the battery door compression after 2 year..,,
sorry after 2 year still but in 6 month who knows,,,
so it will happen to me for sure,, right in the middle of a special weekend holiday I will loose my weekend.

something happend to the lense ??? ,,, really dont know never had problem,,, last summer I remark that the lense shutter was always open after zoom lens get back inside cassing,, and concerning battery cover,, I used camera every 2 weekend and always recharge it before using it,, is it abusing?
the plastic casing look tired,, the little plastic battery retainer look not broken at all but in 20..30 40 time door open again will it be still working soon has the camera is back ill take a picture of it,, the battery doesnt get longer than 6 month ago,, so why battery cover is getting out a bit more,,
I have the cam since 2 year now and still have 2 year waranty,,, I am taking, I did the 2 first year for sure,, 5..6000 pictures every summer I have 4 memory 2 gig card and 8 sony batt .....
I bought extendedd waranty cause I use it,, it doesnt stay in the retail box year around,,

first the camera is woking good with or without being repair,, I hope it will get back fastly so I will be able to use it again,, the camera was doing so nice piccture,, now I am using wife camera but not doing quality picture as mine,,
never do bad picture with it,, shutter broken or not,, so who cares,,, the only thing I remark is,, you try to approved the everything that can approve to do not repair free the camera problem,,
like I already told .. the camera is doing and hope will still do picture without error.. shutter closing or not..
concerning the cassing,, I am not an Engineer but if the plastic casssing is to much thin,,, default quality of my camera,,, its normal tha the door look to have defect....
If I return it with a broken parts,, woudnt be the same story...
the cassing in that area is to thin and is not strong enough to keep pressure done by battery ,,,,
this is my conclusion,,
do you think I will spend money to get an estimate from an engineer to know if the cassing respect the quality of regular other same cassing,,,,,
so the way you talk,,, youre able to find any reason to give them reason to do not respect there waranty..
so dont trust what bestbuy sellers tell.... <<dont be worry with this waranty, all is waranty >>
they catch with this so many people ,, and all will get the same conclusion,, they will always find a reason to do not pay,, always the consumer false,,
I told them,, I will leave the camera on the shelf and after a year the battery door will pop out by itself cause the plastic resistance is not strong enought,, and it wont be waranty,, it will be the consumer false,,,
maybe the owner is not suppose to leave more than 1 week the battery inside camera cause its making to much pressure for the thin cassing,,,
humm will be what you will tell me ,,, << why did you leave battery inside for so long,, its youre false >>
I know.. never leave battery inside camera for extended time,, its written in the manual,,
you will always find the reason to tell its always the owners false,,,
so conclusion is easy,,, buy extended waranty and never ask for support after cause nothing is cover...
stop answering me if you doesnt get an other point of view,, lens,, it could be there since I bought it.. never did bad picture,, and cassing to thin,,, can be a defect since I bought it,,
anyway I will go to consumer office here in quebec OPC.. to get respect on my waranty..
will cost me nothing and they will respect me after,,
(to replace my cam during this elapse time.. I will find the same camera at 49$ in sales at bestbuy)

my brother told me after reading all the excusion not waranty that I was stupid to buy waranty like bestbuy sell..
you press start button of youre camera an its youre false if anything happend,,
the flash doesnt work,, youre false,
the zoom doesnt get out,, youre false,,,
the button to switch from capture/play not working youre false
you press any button and button stop working,, always youre false,,
its always youre false cause,, you press it,,
its written black on white on insurance paper..
so tell me if there is a trick when someone buy this waranty,,
is this the consumer false or seller false..

Hi sergent,
I can imagine it was pretty upsetting to send your camera out for repair expecting it to be covered by your Performance Service Plan (PSP), and then being told you would have to pay to get your camera repaired. It sounds like the technician that looked at your camera determined that the problems with your camera are due to damage to the camera, which would not be covered unless you purchased Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) coverage along with your PSP.
I really do apologize for any miscommunication between you and our sales associate when you purchased the PSP to cover your camera, and I would like to look into this repair to see if there is something I can do to get this resolved for you. I should also say that if you are not satisfied with the coverage that your PSP provides you should be able to get a pro-rated refund on the purchase of your PSP. I am sending you a private message, and to check your messages you should log into the forum and then click on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Thanks for posting,
Allan
