I tripped over my power cord this morning that sent my laptop flying off my desk and landing on its side which caused the power port and ethernet port to bend. Although the laptop can still be plugged in to charge, my ethernet port does not work and the ethernet cord does not fit into it either. I was wondering if warranty covers this damage? Also, how do I find out if I have the black tie advantage plan because I cannot currently remember if I have it?

If you have the BTP with ADH (Accidental Damage From Handling) you should be covered. If not, the Standard BTP and the MFG warranty do NOT cover accidental damage, thus the repairs would be at cost to you.
If you have your receipt, it should mention the purchase of the BTP if you did, in fact, buy it. It will either say BTP or BTP w/ ADH, depending on the plan you purchased.
If you do have an ADH plan, bring the laptop in to Best Buy and they'll send it out for repair.
If you do not have your receipt, a community connector should be able to look it up for you. You should hear from a CC within the next few business days.

Hi abgirl6,
I’ve got some good news for you! I was able to locate your account using the e-mail address you used to register for the forum and it looks like you did, indeed, purchase an ADH service plan for your laptop. If you haven’t already done so, please make sure to check your private messages by signing into the forum and then clicking on the letter icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

For anyone reading this that did not purchase ADH and doesn't have the option, where it's not covered under the warranty, they do make USB ethernet ports.
