Do I have the right REPLACEMENT plan?

[ Edited ]

I got a Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF_101 on saturday april 21st , I got the 32 gig model with no replacement plan, got it home, and half the screen was dead pixels... so i took it back and they had no more more 32 gb versions so i got the 16gb version minus the extra cost of the 32gb. any ways after this, I for sure wanted the plan now, so I added the plan for it. it was I belive 89$,

on the recipt it says:

1152627 1YR W/ADH 3 89.99
  1YR W/ADH 350-399.99 TABLET B
  GSP#      {removed per forum guidelines}
  SKU # 2475916
  EXP DATE 04/21/2013

they told me if within the year my product broke, or even if i dropped it and i was the cause of it breaking they would replace it with the current model they have in stock , so if they no longer carry the model i bought I would be upgraded to the next model closest to the one i own, Is this all correct? i want to make very sure I have the right plan or I would like to go back and make sure to add the right plan if its still possible!

they insured me it was correct but, I have read a lot on here about empoyies not always being right and telling you the correct information.

Also would it make any differance that the recipt says "Exchange" on it, because I added the plan to the new 16gb one that was not faulty? I just wana make sure all my eggs are in a row, So i can breathe easy when playing with it!

Thanks for your time!

Re: Do I have the right REPLACEMENT plan?

Hey trevorlay,

Nice to meet you and thanks for posting with us. I'd like to start out by providing you with a link to view a sample of our Geek Squad Protection (GSP) coverage plans. You'd just have to select your particular plan from the drop-down menu for full details.

Accidental drops and spills are covered under the AdH plan. If something happens to your Asus Transformer tablet, you'd need to bring it into the store to be inspected and most likely, it would need to be sent off to our licensed service center technicians for repairs. Our licensed technicians determine the cause of the damage, and determine whether that damage is covered while abiding by the plan's terms and conditions, before performing any necessary repairs. For some reason, if it cannot be repaired and an approval for a replacement is issued, then you would work with the store on getting a comparable unit (based on your 16GB Transformer tablet's specifications). Price differences would be your responsibility and your coverage plan would be considered fulfilled if you receive a replacement.

I hope this answers your questions and feel free to reply with other concerns or comments if you have them. You may also send me a private message by clicking the link beside my name.

Sincerely,

Re: Do I have the right REPLACEMENT plan?

I was told the replacement would be free and they would automatically change it out for the closest model in stock...

Is the price difference that of the receipt or is it prorated? Thanks for getting back to me. Also should this happen how long on average does the process take? Sending it off and every thing?

Re: Do I have the right REPLACEMENT plan?

Hi trevorlay,

Not a problem, I'm happy to help. They would work with you on finding a comparable model up to the original purchase price of your 16GB unit. Generally speaking, repairs take 2-4 weeks.

Re: Do I have the right REPLACEMENT plan?

Go in and exchange it for the TF-300. Its the new version of the transformer but I'm not too sure of the differences, if any. Either way stores should have them and it's on sell for 349.99 this week so you'll save some money for having to drive back to the store.

Re: Promotion 18 months no interest, also other non promotional item on same card

Hi trevorlay,

Sorry for the delayed response on this question. A payment is first applied to all minimum payments that are due on the account. If funds remain, those funds will then be applied to purchases that have finance charges due. Lastly, any additional payment amounts are applied to purchases with financing promotions in the order they are set to expire.

It is my understanding that to pay a purchase off that has a promotional plan, you would need to make a payment totaling any minimum payments on the account and the remaining balance on the purchase they wish to pay off. To determine this exact amount, they may want to contact HSBC directly at 1-800-298-4240.
