Okay,
I bought a 46” Panasonic Plasma from Best Buy on August 2008. I purchased the 4 year extended warranty. Recently I have been getting a flickering pixel and now it’s looking like its permanent. What should be my first step in getting this resolved. The guy I bought this from swore up and down that this warranty is a “1 dead pixel” warranty and I can take it in if I were to get a dead pixel. I have read online that Best Buy does cover dead pixels. Can this be fixed or will I need a replacement?
Thanks for your help!

AFAIK, the PSP has the same dead pixel coverage as the mfg. warranty, which usually requires a certain number of dead pixels in a specific area, or a certain number over the entire screen. One of the Community Connectors will be able to clarify.

Hey jorgio1781,
Like Nokia mentioned, our Performance Service Plans (PSPs) provide coverage for pixel repairs that reflects the manufacturer’s guidelines. From my experience, this typically means that a plasma or LCD TV will need 3-5 defective pixels in a single area (or more spread across the entire screen) before repairs can be provided, but the exact number required often varies from model to model and manufacturer to manufacturer.
