I'd like to apologize for misunderstanding your original post. I thought you were mentioning that you didn't have your receipt, but would also like help in retrieving it.
I do wish you good luck in having the drive replaced. I know I'd be pretty upset if mine failed on me not even two months after purchase.

Hi admonition,
I know how frustrating it is to lose a receipt; I only know this because I lose them all the time! I am that kind of person that saves her receipts and when I need them, I can only find them if I go back into time. I see that you have had most of your questions answered by BBYMemployee and Elizabeth-BBY, so let me just clarify surrounding Best Buy® return and exchange policy. Note: Best Buy® return and exchange policy can always be viewed on bestbuy.com.
To process a return andand exchange you must have a receipt of the purchase on hand. Best Buy® can always try to locate it for you, by searching by your phone number, name, Reward Zone® membership or Performance Service Plan (if applicable) and by your customer service pin number (is applicable) which can be found on the receipt itself. After locating the receipt, we determine the original date of purchase and see if it still qualifies for our 30 day or 14 day return and exchange time frame. In your case since it’s already been 6 weeks from the date it was purchase, we would look into the manufacturer’s guidelines and yes they all different and vary onon the manufacturer.
At this point I will be sending you a private message, requesting more information from your purchase to see if I can locate your receipt. To review the message, make sure you are logged into the forum and then select the envelope icon.
I look forward to helping you,
Sincerely,
