I received a call yesterday that they where not able to repair my camera and that they are going to give me the new Canon 5D Mark II. I went to the store and the lady said no problem to get me a new camera. I asked her for my lens and she said that it wasn't sent back. So now I have a problem. The 24mm-105mm lens isn't sold by by Best Buy anymore and they can't tell me why it wasn't sent back. I only sent the lens in for cleaning, so why wasn't it send back from cleaning? Did they scrap the lens with the camera? Maybe you can find out if I can get my lens back. Now they want to give me store credit of about $500 for the lens. Now what comproble lens can I get for the lens. The 24-70 lens is the closest to the lens I had and they wanted me to pay an additional $1,000. This doesn't seem comproble to me at all.
I would really like to receive my lens back since I sent it in just to get cleaned. I specifically told them when I took the lens in that it only needs to be cleaned.
I would like to point out that the store manager in Elk Grove, CA Scott & camera department gile Nikita where fantastic in working with me for almost 2 hours last night. They where very patient and willing to do what every they could to help me out in this matter.

Hi dpere,
I was glad to hear that your finally going to have a working camera again, but I wasn't happy to hear that you weren't completely satisfied with the replacement lens you were offered.
I do show that your service plan was purchased to cover the both your camera body and the lens that came with the kit, and because of this if your camera body is approved for replacement by your service plan the lens would also be replaced with the most comparable body and lens that we currently carry.
I would like to see if I can provide you with the best resolution possible, and I am sending you a private message.

I'd like to thank Allan and the great staff at Best Buy in Elk Grove Scott the manager and Nikita for working to get my camera replaced and my lens back. I'm very pleased and happy that I went to Best Buy for my camera purchase and plan to purchase more electronics from Best Buy in the future.
