Manufacturer Warranties and Protection Plans

Hi,

My question is quite simple and yet quite different than most of the ranting going on here.  So... here it is:

I am looking to buy a new Xbox 360 Pro system from Microsoft.com because I have an enormous discount at their site.  While I like Microsoft and think they make pretty reliable product, I would like to purchase a Geek Squad Black Tie Protection plan for it.  Can I do this? 

I always buy protection plans for all of my technology stuff (all of it I buy at Best Buy, I trust them). 

Can I bring in a brand new, never-opened Xbox and have them apply a protection plan to it?  This way I would get the savings from Microsoft and the protection of Best Buy.

You may only purchase a Geek Squad Black Tie Protection Plans for products purchased at Best Buy.

Hope you enjoy the Xbox360 - my fiance is talking about getting one so he can play Streetfighter 4!

Just to be 100% clear, even if Best Buy carries the exact same item they could not allow me to purchase a plan?

Heck, I'm willing to pay double price for the protection plan w/BB considering the savings I get at Microsoft.

Sorry, even if we sell the same item, we can't sell you a plan for anything purchased elsewhere.  I do appreciate your willingness and excitement for buying a plan to cover your Xbox360, but you'll have to choose which benefit is more important - the savings or the protection.
