Bought an Open Box HDTV. Is there a Warrenty?

I just bought an open box HDTV. Since I am poor, I bought one for under $400. There was no warrenty or user manuel with it. Should I go back to the store and get them, so I can register it, or am I SOL?

Yes your open box TV does at the very least have a manufactuer warrenty which will cover defects. If a defect occurs you can head to a Best Buy and they can service it for you. Usually you would know if you got better coverage becuase you pay for it.

Re: Bought an Open Box HDTV. Is there a Warrenty?

Hey Miriam,

One of the reasons your tv was open box was likely because it was missing the user manual so the store isn't likely to have a copy for you.  Most manufacturers offer full copies of the user manual and warranty information on their websites.  I'd be happy to help you find one - what's the brand and model number of your television?

And as DICameraguy said, unless noted otherwise, your tv should still include the manufacturer warranty.  If it's a big tv, though, you'd want to call 888-BestBuy for in-home service instead of hauling it all the way back to the store.

Thanks,

Elizabeth
