Last year I bought a Nikon d3000 with the accidental protection plan. A few days ago I accidentally dropped my camera and now it doesn't work. I checked the best buy website and it seems as though they don't carry the Nikon d3000 anymore. How are they going to handle my claim at this point if they cannot repair my camera? Thanks
Best buy will repair your camera, and if they can't, you will receive a comparable camera so one that's specifications are similar to your current camera, not to exceed your original purchase price. Your protection plan would then be fulfilled.

How much did you pay on your receipt for just the camera portion? Probably the d3100

Since the d3100 costs more than that and is likely the most comparable, you will probably receive 499.99 plus whatever tax you paid back on a gift card to be used towards whichever camera you choose. You would just have to pay the difference between the credit and the camera you pick's total.
