Black Tie Protection on Sprint Touch Pro?

I have an HTC Touch Pro through Sprint that I bought in December of 2008. I have had the Black Tie Protection since. Due to the dumbest phone case ever (velcro no longer sticks, thus slightest jerk may shoot phone out of case), the phone has had 2-3 drops on pavement, resulting in multiple knicks and scratches, especially on the glass screen. The phone is still full functionable, although I'm afraid the screen might crack or might split in half at the slider one day. How exactly can the Black Tie Protection that I have been paying for help me in this situation?

Hello hramd001,

Even though your HTC Touch Pro has been through a lot, it sounds pretty sturdy!  It’s a good thing that you have Geek Squad® Black Tie Protection (GSBTP) just in case!

Nokia is right about your GSBTP coverage though.  While it will cover problems that develop with your Touch Pro due to defect, normal wear and tear, heat, humidity, and even accidental damage (for GSBTP plans billed monthly), it doesn’t offer coverage for the repair of cosmetic damage that does not impact the functionality of the phone.  If your Touch Pro does develop functional problems however – and we hope it doesn’t – your local store will be able to arrange for repair of the unit.

I hope this helps.  Thank you for taking the time to write us here on the forums!

Sincerely,
