Best buy Accidental warranty plan for Ipod touch questions?

Hello everyone,

I had gotten an Ipod touch 32gb for Christmas last year from my girlfriend she purchased it online using her brothers best buy account she also got the two year protection plan on it which I've utilized before. The last time I brought my ipod in to be serviced I had asked if there was any way to transfer the warranty information from her brothers name into mine the geek squad employee who was helping me said that it was simple to do so I gave him all my information and I went away happy. Now I brought my ipod in to get serviced again yesterday and no one was able to find the protection plan number any where even under her brothers name they found proof of purchase for not only the Ipod but the protection plan but not the protection plan number so they could not help me, Since I lost the paperwork with the original Protection plan number on it I have no clue where to go. Is their any way to retrieve this information online?

Was it purchased from BestBuy.com?

They should be able to look up your previous service order in their service order tracking program (STAR) and that will have the PSP number on it. If they found your proof of purchase, it should also have the warranty number on it...

You can otherwise wait 3-5 business days here and a community connector will attempt to look up your service plan info.

Re: Best buy Accidental warranty plan for Ipod touch questions?

Hello dudtball987,

I am sorry to that your iPod is defective and in need of repair, I am even sorrier that the process of transferring the Geek Squad Black Tie Protection Plan (GSBTP) has caused you to be in this frustrating situation.

Transferring the Geek Squad Black Tie Protection Plan to a new owner, is intended so that we can insure the currently and accurate customer’s information is filed, to make your service request worry free.

I will be happy to provide my assistance to best assist you with clarifying the transfer of ownership, and to locate your GSBTP information so that the store is able to best assist your iPod.

I have sent you a private message that you are able to view by logging into the forum, and checking the envelope icon in the upper right corner of the site. In this message I am hoping to get the information you provided to the store so that I can see how I can help you.

Thank you for your patience,
