Thanks for your reply.
So if that is right, that the procedure is the same in both cases, then the question comes up, what is the point of offering two different kinds of coverage which have the exact same stipulations, with the only difference being that one extends the manufacture warranty and one that starts at the date of purchase? Actually, I still do not have and have not been given by Best Buy a copy of the warranty conract that I purchased, which ever one they claim I bought. So I now, here make a formal request of Best Buy to provide me with copies of both the two different contracts so that I can compare them. The details in this contract wil help me understand what it is, exactly, that Best Buy promised to do in the warranty I bought. The thought has occurred to me, and this could be wrong, and perhaps the contract will clarify it, that if in both cases the responsibility to fix the speaker always belongs first to the manufacturer, and only secondarily to Best Buy after that, then it seems to me that Best Buy would make a windfall on selling extra warranties that they very rarely would ever have responsibility to fill. By the way, I have not yet been contacted by anyone from Best Buy.
