I filed a claim a claim on my Best Buy card after loosing my job about two months ago. I filled out all the forms that were requested. Sill no refund on my debt yet. Today I got a letter from BB saying that they will wont pay anything until 4/20 when they will REVIEW!! my claim. That is 3 months since my unemployment. What a load of BULL. My advice to anyone purchasing anything at Best Buy is not apply for Best Buy credit, NEVER.

Have you talked with HSBC since they're the card issuer, bank and the company which offers the debt cancellation program?

Hello jjadus,
I am very sorry to read that you have recently lost your job. As someone who has been unemployed in the past, I know this can be a difficult time to figure out how to get your bills paid on time. I am glad to see that you had enrolled in the Account Shield program through your Best Buy credit card to assist with this, but I am disappointed to see that you are having some difficulties with it.
As AaronE mentioned, HSBC is actually who issues our Best Buy credit cards, and handles the Account Shield program. It is my understanding that with a loss of a job that the program should cancel a portion of your balance. Regrettably, I do not have the full terms of the program to know if there are any restrictions with this. These should have been sent to you by HSBC shortly after first enrolling in the program however.
That being said, I have forwarded your concerns regarding this to our contact at HSBC to review further and see if they can provide more information on what is happening. As soon as I hear more from them on this, I will be sure to let you know here on the forum.
Sincerely,
